VERSION 1.1

Terms of Use

1. Who provides OpsDesk

OpsDesk at opsdesksim.com is provided by Lucas Taylor-Kent, an individual based in the United Kingdom ("we", "us"). Contact help@opsdesksim.com. OpsDesk is the name of the service, not a separate incorporated company. These terms explain how you may use OpsDesk, how your account works and your rights.

2. Your agreement and eligibility

You must be at least 13 to create an account. Users aged 13–17 are welcome; children under 13 must not create one. Read these terms before agreeing and keep a copy. If anything is unclear, ask us or a trusted adult. Use your own authorised Google account, protect its access and report suspected misuse. These terms apply when you select “I agree to the Terms of Use.” and complete account creation, or accept this version for an existing account. Nothing here overrides legal protections for children or makes a term binding where the law does not allow it.

Accepting these terms is not consent to optional marketing or tracking, and does not waive your privacy or consumer rights. Contact help@opsdesksim.com with questions about your personal information or to exercise your data protection rights.

3. What the service provides

OpsDesk offers a public demo and an account-based campaign for learning reconciliation skills. Cases, trade quantities, prices, balances, messages and counterparties are simulated. Real security names or ticker symbols may appear as educational labels; their use does not imply affiliation or endorsement. Figures are not live market data.

OpsDesk does not execute trades, hold client money, arrange investments or provide personal investment, tax or legal advice. Do not use it to make real trading, accounting, compliance or operational decisions. Actual procedures depend on the organisation, market and applicable rules.

4. Scores and completion

Scores and feedback reflect the rules and answers built into each simulated case. They may contain errors and do not verify your identity, competence, employability or suitability for a role. Completion is not an accredited qualification, regulatory approval or professional licence. After all 30 original campaign days are checked as complete, you may request an OpsDesk certificate of completion. It records completion of an unproctored educational simulation, not proof of unaided performance. The completion date is the date OpsDesk verified all required answers; for older saved progress this may be later than your original play date. The name is the name you confirm and is not identity-verified. You can download the certificate privately. If you choose public sharing, anyone with its unique link can see the name, course title, completion and issue dates, certificate ID and status, and download the certificate. Public sharing is optional and can be switched off in your certificate settings. Switching it off or deleting your account removes access through OpsDesk, but cannot remove copies already saved or shared by other people. Your email, saved answers and account details are not included in the public certificate. Certificate records stay with your account until you delete it; contact help@opsdesksim.com about corrections or disputed records. Certificates may be withdrawn if issued in error or based on falsified results. You may accurately describe your participation, but must not present it as an accreditation or an independently validated assessment.

5. Fees and saved progress

OpsDesk is free to use and will remain free. We do not charge for accounts, campaign access or repeated attempts. Your internet or device provider may charge you separately.

Campaign progress is saved to your account when saving succeeds. The interface shows pending saves and conflicts. Browser recovery copies may also be kept. Clearing browser storage can remove unsynchronised work; signing out does not delete the account. We will use reasonable care in providing the service and handling saves, but cannot promise uninterrupted availability or that every unfinished draft can be recovered.

6. Responsible use

Use OpsDesk lawfully. Do not access other users’ accounts, bypass access controls, introduce malicious code, disrupt the service, or falsify results to mislead someone. Do not enter real customer records, confidential employer information or payment credentials. Report security issues privately to help@opsdesksim.com; this does not authorise accessing others’ accounts or data.

7. Content and permissions

We or our licensors hold the rights in the software, design and learning content. You may use OpsDesk for personal learning and share screenshots of your own results for a portfolio. Describe them accurately, credit OpsDesk and remove personal or confidential information. This permission does not allow resale or republication of the case library. Separate open-source or third-party licences remain effective.

You retain any rights you have in information you submit. You give us only the permission needed to store and use your submissions to run OpsDesk and respond to you. This does not replace our duties under data protection law or the need for a valid lawful basis to process personal information. Sending feedback does not transfer ownership of unrelated work to us.

8. Changes and availability

We may make changes needed to correct errors, maintain security, improve the learning content or meet legal requirements. For material changes to these terms, we will explain the change and give reasonable advance notice by email or a prominent account notice. We will seek fresh agreement where required. Urgent legal or security changes may take effect sooner. Changes will not remove existing legal rights. You may stop using OpsDesk and request closure without a fee.

9. Suspension and closure

We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to address serious misuse, an ineligible account, security risks or legal requirements. We will explain the reason where lawful and safe, allow you to challenge errors at help@opsdesksim.com, and normally offer a chance to resolve the issue. If we can no longer reasonably maintain OpsDesk, we may close it after reasonable notice where practicable, explaining how to request your stored information before deletion.

You can request closure at help@opsdesksim.com. We will explain how we handle your request and any information we need to retain to meet legal obligations or resolve a dispute. Signing out, clearing your browser, or disconnecting Google access does not by itself request deletion of your OpsDesk account.

10. Responsibility and your legal rights

If we breach these terms or fail to use reasonable care and skill, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result. We do not exclude or restrict liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability or consumer remedy that the law does not allow us to exclude or restrict. The educational limitations above do not remove rights you have under applicable law.

11. Complaints and disputes

Send service complaints to help@opsdesksim.com. We will review the issue and explain our response; you can ask us to reconsider. You keep any mandatory consumer protections and rights to bring proceedings in your home courts that applicable law provides. These terms do not require compulsory arbitration, prevent contact with a regulator or stop you taking legal action. The applicable law and court jurisdiction are determined by the relevant legal rules.
